Private Luther Dobson
Luther Dobson was the son of Squire and Emma Dobson. Formerly employed in the butchering department of the Halifax Industrial Society, he emigrated to Canada in 1914. In April 1916, he enlisted as a Private in the 78th Bn. Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment). He was killed in action in Belgium on 30th October 1917.
Luther is commemorated at Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, memorial reference Panel 24 - 26 - 28 - 30. (CWGC)
He is commemorated at Lister Lane Cemetery on the gravestone of grave number 2930

In loving memory of Luther, belved son of Squire and Emma Dobson killed in action October 30th 1917, aged 24 years.
Also the above Squire Dobson, died May 19th 1933, aged 68 years.
Also the above Emma Dobson, died December 9th 1940, aged 75 years.
Also Florence daughter of the above died April 19th 1950, aged 62 years.
